Fast Multiplications Trick 2

This trick is used for multiplying numbers where the first digits add up to 10. Last digits are the same.

Just opposite to what we just practiced.

Have fun with the trick

34 x 74 = 2516
First digits here add up to 10 (3 and 7). Last digits are same.

So we just multiply 3 and 7 and add 4 (the last digit of the number) to get 25 first part of the answer.

3 x 7 = 21 + 4 = 25

And we multiply the last digits: 4 x 4 = 16 to get the last part of the answer.

Let’s try another one

65 x 45 = 2925

First digits here add up to 10 (6 and 4). Last digits are same.

So we just multiply 6 and 4 and add 5 (the last digit of the number) to get 29 for the first part of the answer.

6 x 4 = 24 + 5 = 29

And we multiply the last digits: 5 x 5 = 25 to get the last part of the answer.

Little Variation

81 x 21 = 1701

First digits here add up to 10 (8 and 2). Last digits are same.
So we just multiply 8 and 2 and add 1 (the last digit of the number) to get 17 for the first part of the answer.

8 x 2 = 16 + 1 = 17

And we multiply the last digits: 1 x 1 = 01 to get the last part of the answer.

Here we write 01, as the answer of last part should be a double digit number.

Time for you to try

26 x 86 =

47 x 67 =

51 x 51 =

28 x 88 =

61 x 41 =

Making Help with Math Homework Easier

It took me and the Academic Directors days of debating to come up with a  way of providing a easy and convenient way for students to get timely help with math homework. Actually ever since we came online, our customer care has received a constant flow of requests from students for help with math problems. In a normal one-on-one tutoring environment it was difficult for us to provide such help as the tutors kept busy with their pre-scheduled sessions.

For days we debated on this issue and finally the ‘Overnite Solution‘ option was born. The solution is really simple and convenient. Student can type in or scan the problem and send it to us, our experienced tutors work on the problem and send across the solution. Its that simple. If we receive the problem by 9 PM EST, the solutions are sent across so that the student has it ready and waiting in the email the very next morning.

Students are really loving this option. The low price of $1.95 per question is also something that just covers our expenses. We sincerely wish to keep it as a service to the students. In fact  the first question for the first time is absolutely FREE of charge. Earning is definitely not our intention here.

As more and more students have started this facility to get help with math homework, we are also now receiving increasing number of requests for instant help with math problems. So people, here we are, back on the drawing board, working out a method of providing the instant help that so many need. Good news parents, you need not get unduly worried about finding help for math related issues. Very soon we will have our instant help system in place. Just look out for intimation on this blog.

Let us know your views on our ‘Overnite Solution’ for making help with math homework easier for the child and you as well.

Until next post
